Primary School Teachers in Ondo State, under the Auspices of The Nigeria Union of Teachers are Presently Protesting in front of the Ondo state Governor’s office, Alagbaka Akure.

The teachers Want their Salary payment to be done through the state government and not the local government. According to them, there are always issues of delay and deductions when they get their pays through the local governments.
According to one of them, Comrade Azeez Olayinka from Ile-oluji/Okeigbo local government who spoke with Nigerian Cable News, while they are not against the local government autonomy, they don’t want to be paid through the local government.

He said:
“the reason why we are here is to demand that our salary Payment should be moved from the local government to the state government, we are tired of issues with the delay and other issues that we face when Paid through the local government. Many of Our fellow civil servants get their salaries, weeks before us”.

The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu is Presently with them in front of his Office. Listening to their leaders as they chant their solidarity Songs. He is however yet to respond to them at Press time.
