As much as I support the NotTooYoungToRun Bill, some issues must be critically examined and be evaluated psychologically.
Mr. 9ice latest song titled (Living things) is a great exhibition of moral decadence. 9ice in his music was preaching, encouraging internet fraud, he even called those who work from "9am - 4pm and probably sleep at 9pm or 10pm lazy people".
As if that wasn't enough, he also said "money no dey fall from heaven" "awon temi n shashe loru moju" "money on top of everything"
The same 9ice who aspired to represent his constituency at the Oyo State House of Assembly sometimes in 2015 but lost at the primaries, is the same person encouraging Nigerian Youths to engage themselves in moral indecency.
This shows that if 9ice was giving a chance to serve in 2015, he would have sponsored a bill of immunity over those he perceived to be intelligent by not sleeping overnight. His justification for his music was that "money no dey fall from heaven"
It didn't stop there, he futher mentioned some names in his song which in a saner society would have been arrested by now for interrogation.
These are the youths clamouring for NotTooYoungToRun bill, they want to take leadership positions, they want to control the security, they want to be at the top seats, dictate and participate in national politics, they are desperately hungry for power and money, yet they want to "shashe"
I know youths who are intelligent to take leadership positions, I know those who have enviable antecedent with moral intellectual energy, but we cannot deny the informal criteria for contesting elections in Nigeria which is "fund", a huge one at that.
The question, is it morally justifiable for Yahoo-Boys to sponsor their fellow youths in taking leadership positions ???
