With a deep tensed and sobered heart I write this context after I'm able to have observed and discovered how students unions have been on the run for time past and even now, it's a sadous thing to acknowledged that Nigerian government differ not in any way or sense from students union... The students' union executives are of no different from Nigerian politicians the way they campaign, manage office, manipulate and others... There's now a trending issue of one past president of FUTA who has been accused to had fled out of the country because he looted the union funds, his colleagues are accusing and campaigning against him now that he's running for the chairmanship of Lagos state LG...
Without any further ado to make context skimpy. There's one sad popular sayings, 'Youths are the leaders of morrow', yea! Of course! That clue is sadly true and metaphysical in nature but we're the problem, we never want to lead... From my best knowledge, a UNION is an organization of people who join together for a purpose, to set and to utilize a special purpose . Do we(union) even have a set goal(s)? What goal(s) have we ever achieved in benefit of its members? What had Hon Comrade Odunayo Agboola (Sue D Bastard) achieved for the benefits of the union? What good and landmark is Comrade Ijanusi (Optimum) leaving behind the union? Also the past presidents... We need to be awake now ,we need to think and revolve education and the nation through true unionisms... We, students can be summoned and solicited by the national government on education and the nation matters through a proper and revolt union... We should be having says or referendum too when it comes to ASUU and industrial actions matters, because we pay for services and we suppose to be the 3rd-party of the organization as we're solely involved in the edu-organization... These are what we should be fighting and summoning for and not running for the office just because of posture or any kind of interests ... We the members too, let's bury voting because of ' he/she is my bro or sis , he's close to me,he belong to my department ' or influences... Doing this cannot get the union train moving... Let's all stand and voice for resolution and revolution of SUG and other associations together!
We can! Yes, we'll!
